Here we talk a little bit about the client, like how Mary and Huw moved into their Edwardian villa in 2017. After extensive internal renovations, they were ready for a garden that made sure their outside space was as beautiful as their inside space.
This impressive house renovation called for a garden design that complemented its clean lines and rectilinear design features.
The new structural ‘bones’ of the garden were built in traditional materials, sympathetic to the house and surrounding area; cool-grey limestone, buff Cotswold chippings, timber. Sections of clay pavers in warm, earthy tones, were incorporated for colour and textural variation.
The overall look is softened by deep herbaceous borders, with whimsical, naturalistic planting.
From mid-summer, ornamental grasses weave through the planting beds and tall perennials emerge between boulders, adding depth and creating a feeling of immersion around the seating areas and natural swimming pool.
