The beauty of this city front garden is that it serves no functional purpose. The brief was simply to add great aesthetic value; to be a beautiful thing for our clients to look out onto, to set the tone for their elegant period home and welcome visitors to it.
The simple circular design centres and softens the space. Tactile Jurassic coast Purbeck stone pitchers were used to create the circle, with sawn Purbeck paving slabs leading to the grand entrance steps. Plant life will start to creep through the pitchers in time, adding additional texture and interest.
Structural box balls anchor the loose, naturalistic planting and a line of freshly pleached hornbeams frame the space and provide a structural evergreen backdrop.
