Our clients wanted us to create a garden ‘sanctuary’ which they could escape into when working from home and enjoy with family and friends.
The long garden was divided by a cedar and larch pergola and limestone terrace, creating a generous dining and seating area, with the feel of an outdoor room.
Behind this the new office building nestles, at the base of a mature railway embankment, screened by Siberian larch battens and surrounded by shade-loving foliate planting.
More Siberian larch screening flanks the main section of lawned garden and provides a unified, warm backdrop to the herbaceous borders and multi-stemmed trees. A cluster of Amalanchier lamarckii sits beside grey limestone batt paving, interspersed with creeping thyme planting strips.
