Once an active cattle-yard, a reflective rill now anchors this calm, transitional space which links gardens and outhouses to the main Cotswold cottage.
Edged in smooth limestone, the mirrored black rill provides contrast to the buff Cotswold gravel, where vibrant, structural Buxus domes have been planted.
These domes are echoed in the deep planting beds opposite, where tall ornamental grasses are woven through pale perennial planting, adding a soft, ethereal quality to the overall look and feel of the space.
Having previously been a productive farmyard, the subsurface ground was dense and full of rubble and major excavation work was required to enable the correct depth of planting and installation of the rill.
